Ever been at the grocery store or in public and your child begins to scream like they been shot in the arm with the 'scream to check out the lungs medicine'? Well, what is a parent to do? Every body around is giving you the evil eye to do something with that child-but does any one offer any wise suggestions? No!
So what is wrong with building character in your children by telling them "No" at least 3 times a day and the public outing happens to be one them. Children can hear that from their parents to know who really is in charge-not them.
Authority-the parent or the child, who obeys who in todays world? What happened to the rules and respect at home that is transfered into the community setting? Who really needs to have their way-the child's or the right way of discipline a child screaming to top of their lungs.
I learned early in my public experience when I explained to my children even at a few months of age what to expect before we ever left the house. They learned I was in charge and would hear "no" probably 3 times in public and hundred at home. When they learned who was in charge and was not them-our outings became pleasurable!
